Who is Who???

So Riley, Jesse and I were looking at old pictures on the computer the other day and I found this picture of Joel. He looks just like Jesse (or should I say, Jesse looks just like Joel). It is AMAZING to me!!

Then I started to look at some other pictures and I just had to share these. My little babies are growing!!! I'll have to add some more later, I have to go and pick them up from school.

Have a great day.

Week in Review...and a roach!

Wow, what a week. We have had a really good 3 days at school. The first day at school, Joel said they really didn't do too much. I guess they mainly went back over rules and just getting used to each other. The second day was pretty much the same, I believe. And I have to tell you, Joel was pretty disappointed. He said "we didn't learn anything"! He is ready to get started. He was even disappointed that he didn't have any homework yet. Although yesterday he had to put 3 things in a bag that would tell about him and the things he enjoy. So, guess what he put in his bag.

  1. A Harry Potter Bookmark

  2. A picture of the Wii

  3. And the cover of the Chronicles Of Narnia DVD

Of course I asked him what were some of the things the other kids brought in, but he seem to not be able to remember.

As for Riley. She has had a great 3 days too. I asked her what her favorite part of the day was and she said "lunch". The first day she ate ALL her lunch. I was very surprised, I have to say because she is a very slow eater. Then the second day half of her sandwich was eaten but her dessert was gone. We already had a talk about eating our lunch first and then the dessert but she said "but Mommy, my teacher said I could eat my dessert". So we had another little talk about, knowing the rules and following them. You knew that Mommy wanted you to eat your sandwich first and then your dessert. So I believe we got that down- today her sandwich and her dessert were eaten. BUT... while I was asking her about her day today. She was telling me she went to PE today and they played with the big parachute, it sounded like she had a lot of fun. So then I brought recess up-I asked if they played outside because it had been raining here all day. And she said "yes, we went outside to play, but I had to sit on the wall for 5 minutes because I was talking during art. I could not believe it, her 3rd day and she was already in a "time out". She did get a smiley face on her paper so I guess Mrs. Walsh didn't think too much of it. But we did have a talk about obeying your teacher. And when you don't obey your teachers you are not obeying Mommy & Daddy. I think she understands that now. We did tell her that we were very proud of her for telling us and we hope that if something like this happens again, she would tell us again. But we trust that it won't:)

That is about it. Now we are all ready for the weekend. My poor JoJo was really having a hard time with the waking up so early. I think he wakes up when Terry wakes Riley up at 6:15am. So today I put him back in bed around 8:30am and he slept until about 10am. I think that really helps.

As for Jesse, he is having a blast! He gets to play on the computer and the WII all by himself. He loves it. And I like it, because I got to clean Joel and Riley's room today and throw things away... without them saying, "NO don't throw that away"!!! And it looks clean now. Jesse actually got to sit on Joel's top bunk bed this morning too playing with his little car. He had so much fun.

One final announcement... I killed my first roach!! OH, I HATE roaches and while I was putting Josiah's clothes away I noticed a HUGE roach on the wall. I called Terry (he is not teaching right now) and was freaking out! My hands got all clammy and my hear started racing. I think I have a major "fear". Terry just kind of laughed and told me he was not going to come home and kill a roach. He said, go get the fly swatter and I'll talk you through it! I really thought I was not going to be able to do it. I even went to the front door to see if any of my neighbors were home, but no luck! So I had to find that courage...and I did. I killed my first roach! But then I had to clean him up!!! So luckily after a lot of pushing and shoving, I got him on the fly swatter and tossed him out the front door. I know, I know... all of you are probably saying: What a whimp. It is just a roach! Get a hold of yourself." But trust me, I have a major fear of roaches.

On the first day of 5k and 3rd grade...

Wow, it is back to school time. Today is the first day of school. Both my kids were SO EXCITED! Riley woke up Tuesday morning (the day before school started) at 4:30 AM asking if it was time to wake up yet to go to school. Poor girl, she had to wait another entire day. Joel kept saying "this day is taking too long, I am ready to go back to school". WOW, I wish I was like that when I was in school. I did not like school and I loved summer vacation!!! Terry took a picture of Riley getting dressed (don't look at my hair- hey I just woke up!)I am so excited!!

Terry woke the kids up at 6:15am and they both jumped right up and got dressed. Joel came walking into my bedroom all dressed and ready to go!He was looking so handsome!
After breakfast we got the other two up and put them all in the van.
Here are some pictures that we took while we were at school this morning: Joel and his 3rd grade teacher, Ms. Jennings. Joel and his friend Zach (they have been in the same class since 5k)

Riley and her two teachers: Mrs. Walsh and Mrs. Joiner.

Big girls now...

Yesterday was a big day for Riley and Lilli. They got their EARS PIERCED!! They were so excited. We were doing it at night, so that Tammy could come with us and have a "girls night out". Lilli actually went to church with us to have dinner and after dinner we dropped the boys at home and met Tammy at the mall.

The funny thing was, the night before Tammy and I asked Lilli if she wanted her ears pierced and she said, "No, I'll wait till I turn 7". Then she said, "I'll go and watch Riley and if it doesn't hurt then I'll do it". Well, while we were at church, she was so excited that she said she was going to go first!

When we finally got to there, Lilli was SO Excited...she jumped right in the chair and was ready. Riley on the other hand was just kind of watching everything-very quietly. Finally the girl got ready and Lilli did great. They have a special bear that the kids get to hold if they want too while they are getting their ears done. All she said after the girl put her first earing in was "Hurry, Hurry, this doesn't feel good". And pretty much the same thing after the second ear. She was amazing:)

So, now it was Riley's turn. She was all ready. Hopped right into the chair. The girl put the little dots on her ear where the ear rings were going and she still had this exciting look on her face, no idea what was about to happen. And then the girl "clicked the gun" she started SCREAMING! It was so sad. I think it scared her for the most part but the girl was really nice. She tried to bribe her with a sucker and that worked a little bit but not too much. She screamed some more for the second ear but then we were done. She cried for just a little bit longer and then was fine. She was so proud of her ear rings. All day today she was showing them to everybody. She thinks she is such a big girl now. We just have to keep cleaning them and turning them for the next 6-8 weeks.

Right before we left the mall last night, Riley told me she wanted to wear a pretty dress to the first day of school so she would look pretty with her ear rings. She is so excited:)

Now the next few pictures are just of Riley being silly before going to bed. She was so excited for her new PJ's (Thanks Lilli). She was just being a little girl playing in her bed and I just had to take some pictures of that. I also added a picture of Riley and her kindergarden teacher, Mrs. Walsh. She has been coming all summer long doing little things with her preparing for 5k. Today was her last day until school starts. I wanted to take a picture of them together. Well, Riley and Jesse started fighting over a toy and this is the picture I got. Oh well:)

For Jesse's 4th birthday he got a Batman Costume. He loves that costume. He has been wearing it 24/7. We actually had a doctor's appointment this week and he wore it to the office. He thinks he is just so cool. So I wanted to share some pictures of Jesse AKA BATMAN.

Best Friends...

Riley and Lilli have really gotten closed over the past year. It is just so fun to see. I am glad God has given her a "best friend" that lives right next door. They have a lot of fun together. I remember having my "best friends" next door to me when I was little. This past week we all had dinner together and after dinner they were being typical girls by giggling and squeeling. So I sent them outside to play in the puddles. They had so much fun. They also ended up having their first sleep over at our house. They did pretty good, although Terry and I had to both go in and tell them to stop talking and go to sleep but they had a blast. In the morning I e made them waffels with chocolate chips:)They thought that was AWSOME!

Waynesville, North Carolina

What a nice week we had. My friend Lorriellen invited our family to go with her to her inlaw's mountain house in Waynesville, North Carolina.

Lorriellen with her husband Chris and their son Davis.

We left on Wednesday (July 23rd) and Terry came up that Friday after work. It was just so nice and relaxing. The weather was amazing. It was in the 80's and that is GREAT when you live in Lexington, SC where it feels like it is 110 degrees.

On Saturday we were going to go find a trail and go hiking. Well, our tour guide took a wrong turn on the Blue Ridge Parkway so we did not find it. But ended up going to Lake Joccassee and walking around there. It is beautiful over there.

Lake Joccassee
I wish we could have just stayed there for another week but we had to go back to reality. Here are some more pictures of our week. Enjoy:)
