Busy being Crafty

Joel got one of his art projects from school put in the local "Winter Fest Art Exhibit" this week. I believe this is the 3rd year they are doing it and this is Joel's first time in it.They had an open house for the parents/public last night. It was fun seeing it on display but let me tell you, there were A LOT of people. I don't know if you have ever been to the Old Mill in Lexington but it got pretty crowed and it is not Stroller friendly. But it was nice.

I also got crafty yesterday. In the morning, I got to watch my friend Raluca's little baby, Alina for the first time. Mom had to go to the doctor and she needed somebody to watch her. So she brought her over around 10 am. I was very curious to see how little JoJo would do with a baby around but I have to say, he did awesome!! He was so sweet to her. He kept going up to her and giving her kisses. Very cute:) Jesse too, he would lay next to her and hug her. At one point I heard him say "I love you, Alina". So adorable! I am very excited because I actually get to start watching little Alina sometime in April (after spring break is over). Mom will be going back to work and she asked me if I would be interested. Heck yeah, hey I need to get my baby fix some how.
After Racluca came back from her appointment we took Jesse to school and we start working on our diaper cake. I had never made one before but Raluca had made one before so I asked her if she wanted to help me with it. We had a lot of fun. And I think we did a pretty good job. I told her we needed to start our own business of making diaper cakes. Hey, I have seen them being sold in the Internet for about $113 . I don't think I personally would pay that much for that but I guess others do!

Poor Josiah this morning, I think he woke up at the same time as Riley (6:15am). Usually he sleeps till at least 7am or so and then we wake him up so I can take the kids to school. But not today. He was calling for us, first "Mommy..." Then "Daddy..." and finally "Riley...". So I decided to go ahead and get him out of bed and give him breakfast with everybody else. So when 9:30am came rolling around, he got really tired. So this is what happend. He fell asleep on our bed!

Oops...

Note: This is not a picture of my kids (just thought it was funny)
OK, so Saturday we decided to give the boys a haircut. So Terry was brave and decided he was going to do it himself. I have to say, he did a GREAT job with Jesse. His hair actually looks like it was done by a professional. I am very happy with the final result. As he was finishing his hair (doing touch ups) he dropped the clippers and they broke. So instead of doing Joel's hair he took him to a place inside Wal-mart and she did a wonderful job on him too. I love Joel's hair short (although he was trying to let it grow out a bit). So while they were at Walmart he went ahead and bought another set of hair clippers so we could give Josiah his first hair cut. So last night after nap/dinner/clean up. We decided to go ahead and give Josiah his first hair cut. No, I don't have any pictures of that because Terry had left the camera at work. But he did great. He was not scared at all. But... Terry decided to use the number 1 guard on the clippers. Yes, NUMBER 1! I know, I know, that makes it really short. At first I though, wow that is going to be really short but then said to myself "Nah, Terry knows what he is doing". I need to learn to speak up when I am in doubt. Well, let me tell you, don't use a number one on a 20 month old. It looks like he is BALD. Poor kid, we have been calling him Q-TIP all day today. I can't complain too much, he got a haircut (which he really needed) and I have to remember, it will grow back. (Hopefully soon). Luckily he is still young and doesn't know any better. Hopefully he won't hate us when he is older!
Enjoy the pictures:)

Here is our little "Q-Tip". Isn't he cute?

Pictures in Review.

OK, life at the Rogers is not boring. It just seems like we have something going on every day/night. I think Mondays and Friday's are probably the only days we are all at home during the week. Tuesday night I have a girls bible study I go to. Wednesday night we have Church's-kids quest. Thursday night Joel has Boy scouts and Riley has ballet class. Yes... she has started a class. She is so excited. My friend Mari told me about this class- $10 a month. You can't beat that. She started about 2 weeks ago and is loving it. Last week Lilli actually came too. Lilli is so funny, I guess when Lilli was about 3 or 4 she had taken a ballet class so while we were driving to the church where they have the class she told her mom (Tammy), "Mommy, I am a professional so I can teach Riley". Tammy told her, "no Lilli, you are not a professional". And she came back with "...but mom, I know how to do ballet so I am a professional". (Funny.)
So while we are hanging out waiting for Riley to finish her class, the boys (Sal, Donovan and Jesse) are in one of the classrooms (in the dark) playing their Nintendo DS. (They do it in the dark because they say "they see better") Now mind you, Jesse does not have one but he loves to look over Sal's shoulder. It is very cute. Thanks Sal for sharing with my Jester!
Here are some pictures of my little ballerina:

Now a couple of weeks ago, my future sister-in-law, Maria had send a "belated" Christmas box for the kids. I had made the mistake of telling the kids about it so for the next week or so they kept asking me "Has the box come in yet". So finally when it did come in they were so excited. Joel ran outside and herded all the kids in to open the box- including Lilli. Well, here are some of the pictures.
Lilli being silly. She was so excited for the kids. I have to say, she did great watching all the kids getting presents!
Thanks Marc, Maria, Valerie and Stephanie. The kids LOVE all the presents:)

So, last week was Valentines day. Riley had to decorate a box for school so she had a place to put all the Valentines day cards in. So instead of getting a shoe box this year, I bought her one of those paper mailboxes they sell at Walmart. They are all white and come with stickers and stuff so you can decorate it. So instead of decorating them with the stickers Riley decided she wanted to paint it. She had so much fun. After it dried she put on stickers and those foam hearts/shapes. She told me that she was the only one that brought that kind of box. It kind of surprised me because those little "mailboxes" have become pretty popular.

The Gang's all here...

What a great weekend we had. Some of Terry's old buddies from Thornwell came to visit and watched he Superbowl. Jim Gilman and Kelly Odom came from Atlanta. Jim stayed with us on Saturday night while Kelly stayed at Kerry's. And While I was at Wal-Mart on Saturday morning to do some Superbowl shopping, I ran into Chris Shuttleworth so he came over on Sunday afternoon for a while too. My friend Sheri and her husband came over too for the Superbowl party. We had a lot of fun. Here are some pictures of the weekend. I have to say, the kids had a blast with Mr. Jim. I believe he has the same amount of energy as all 4 of my kids combined. They had a blast playing football with him in the back yard. I hope we can do it again next year!
