This weekend we went camping with Jesse's cub scout troop. We went to Table Rock and had so much fun. We got there around 5:30pm on Friday afternoon and had to get the tent up pretty quickly because it looked like it was going to rain any moment. Luckily, it didn't start raining until 9:00pm. It was a pretty good storm though, rain and thunder. But luckily we have a pretty nice tent and we all stayed dry.
The Next day we went to Hagood Mill in Pickins County where they were having their kids day. Again, it was pretty cloudy but it was nice because it is already getting pretty hot.UGGG!
They had different things to look at including an old Cotton Gin. Riley especially enjoyed this because she is learning about South Carolina history right now and they are in the middle of the civil war right now and learning about Eli Whitney and the cotton gin.
There was also a Moonshine Still (don't worry, it was just water).
I just love museums like this. Seeing how they did things way back when.
We had to get a family picture in front of the "water tire" like JoJo called it.
This is the man that was "in charge" of the Moonshine Still". Terry saw him walking across the field and he said "THAT is what I want to look like when I'm retired". So we had to stop him and get a picture of the two of them together.
JoJo and daddy by the "Water Tire".
These are some handsome boys!
We had such a good time. After we were done walking around, we got into the car and drove to Pinkins and had lunch there and then went back to the camp ground. I was so glad we stayed dry that day. Although when we woke up Sunday morning to rain again. So we stayed in the tent until it stopped and then packed everything up and left for home. Once we got home, we had to put everything back up since the tent was ALL wet. So we put it up in the drive way so it could dry up. We thought we had to leave it up until Monday night so it could dry all the way, but because it is already so hot it dried up in about an hour. So then we had to take it DOWN again. Luckily my neighbors, Tony and Marlene were SO nice that they invited us over for dinner that night. One LESS thing I had to worry about:) THANK YOU, TONY AND MARLENE!!!!

Your trip looks like so much fun! I have a friend I met in TX, who now lives in GA, but she is from Pickins. Funny huh? Beautiful place!
