Disney On Ice- Princess Wishes.

Yesterday was amazing. I took Riley to the "Princess on Ice" show. We had so much fun. I got Riley all dressed up in her Cinderella costume and let her wear some special makeup. She looked so beautiful. We went we two of her little friends from school- Alivia and Niki. Lilli rode with us over to the McDonalds near the Colonial Center and we met her mom there. That McDonalds was so busy, there were SO many little princesses there. It was a lot of fun. After dinner we drove to the Colonial Center and found our seats. I have to say, they were great seats. I got some good pictures although it was a little too dark sometimes. I kept trying to take a picture of the girls watching the show but those pictures didn't come out too well.
Well, here are the pictures. ENJOY:)

This will be a day we will never forget. Who knows, maybe we can do it again next year!

Ballerinas and Pirates...

I don't know if any of you have heared the new song by Steven Curtis Chapman called "Cinderella" but Riley loves it. Check out the song, I love it. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfxL0S-7yVo)

Snow White Birthday Party

Our little Riley Anne had her 5th birthday party this weekend. She had a lot of fun. She wanted to have a "Snow white" birthday party. I really tried to get her to change it to Cinderella but no way. So I have been working hard to get her party together.
Callie Blackburn came over on Friday night and helped me make the cake. It was a PAIN! I decided to use Fondant this time for the cake because it is supposed to make the cake look really nice. Well, it is PAIN to work with. Callie and I had to run to Wal-mart 2x because I had not bought enough fondant. I have to say, I am pretty happy with the final result.
There were a couple of places that did not look too great but I had made the Seven Dwarfs with my cricut machine (http://www.cricut.com/) and had no idea what I was going to use them for. So since there were some "imperfections" on the cake, I put them around the cake. I think they look great:
For the Goody bags I made little purses for the girls and I had colorful lunch bags for the boys. In stead of buying lots of little party toys I decided to just make some cookies and stick them in bags and they enjoyed them. As for birthday party games- I don't really do that. I enjoy seeing the kids just playing together. But since we had a BIG Snow White taped on the door we decided to play "Pin the apple on Snow White". They had so much fun playing that.

Here are some pictures of her friends that came to the party.

Riley & Niki- best friend from school.

I just love this picture. We took this right before we cut the cake. Isn't she beautiful?

So on Sunday I finally got to make Riley's birthday dinner. She wanted home made pizza again. Both Riley and Jesse helped me make it. It was very good.

This is going to be some good pizza!

Happy Birthday, Riley!

I can't believe my baby girl turned 5 years old. WOW, these 5 years just flew by. She is such a big girl. We had a nice day. Since her birthday was on Wednesday we didn't do too much but we tried to make it special. Terry came home around 4pm and brought her a beautiful bouquet of flowers for her. She was so excited. Her present from all of us was tickets to the Princess on Ice. It is actually going to be a "Mommy and me" date night. She is so excited about it. A couple of her friends from school are also going. We can't wait. I have not made her cake yet- we are having a Snow white birthday. So on Wednesday we had some cup cakes and enjoyed that. This Friday I will be making her Snow white birthday cake. And then on Saturday we will have her party in the back yard (I hope). But here are some pictures of our little "snuggy".

Happy birthday, Ri-Ri. We love you lots.
